    The background, history and development of numerical modeling of suspension two-phase flows and their combustion are reviewed. Different models, including single-fluid model, particle trajectory model, multifluid model and continuum-trajectory model, their numerical procedure and application are discussed.     Peng-Robinson equation of state was modified to represent vapor-liquid equilibria for hydrogen-containing systems. A new expression of the temperature dependent parameter for the supercritical gas hydrogen, and the binary interaction parameters were introduced to improve the description of VLE for 19 binary systems. Results show that this work is superior to the previous work. Moreover, estimations of PVT behavior, the second virial coefficients for hydrogen, and predictions of the volumetric properties of liquid mixtures and VLE for the ternary systems are in good agreement with the experimental data.

    Condensation heat transfer of vapor-gas mixture in turbulent downflow through a vertical annulus has been studied. An analytical model, relatively simple in computation, is developed using available correlations for the interfacial shear stress, heat and mass transfer coefficients. The solutions obtained for steam-air mixtures agree well with experimental data of Stewart et al. and Kasprzak and Podpora. The effects of main stream Reynolds number and radius ratio r* are found to be significant for flow condensation of mixtures in annuli.

    This report makes a systematic study of flooding in vertical tubes, and gives a clear definition of two types of flooding; investigates and analyzes the influence factors on flooding, especially the influence of tube ends. It puts forward the flooding correlations in sharp-edged tubes as well as in tapered end tubes, and points out the ways to raise the flooding velocities. All the above theories and correlations are tested and verified by the experimental results.

    The Polanyi-Dubinin equation was used to predict adsorption isotherms for eight organic vapors at 25℃and for two organic vapors at 25℃, 40℃and 60℃on activated carbon in this analysis. The theoretical affinity coefficient, β, was calculated by three methods (molar volume, molecular parachor and electronic polarization) based on nonpolar and polar reference vapors.
